About This Route

Road to Nepal is a compact but unforgiving loop — 50km that punches well above its distance with 788m of climbing concentrated into relentless rollers and sustained drags through the foothills south of Calgary. The roads are quiet, the shoulders are open, and there is nothing out here to save you if you run out of fuel or water.

The route earns its name through attrition. There are no flat sections to recover on, no villages, no stores. What looks manageable on paper feels much longer in the saddle, particularly on the back half when the climbing hasn't let up and the legs are starting to question your decisions.

"No stops. No shelter. Carry everything you need before you leave."

Traffic is moderate throughout — stay visible and ride predictably. That isolation is still real in terms of services; come self-sufficient.
